One word of advice to you all.
Try learning some basic german BEFORE you go to germany!
It will make it a lot easier for you to start out there. And it is much more likely to get a job.
But keep in mind, germany has currently quite a high unemployment rate. So don't think it will be easy to find a job.
Knowing some basic german will also help while interacting with german government agencies/local authorities. German bureaucracy is hell and the people working there are often not very helpful and don't speak english.
