Ok, this one is interesting. My boyfriend, who is 1/2 Saudi / 1/2 Lebanese lives and works in Dubai (for about 8 years). I'm an American but currently living in Cape Town South Africa and am looking at a job transfer to Dubai with my company. We see each other once a month when I go to Dubai to see him (it's a pain for him each time to get his visa to come here) and now we want to make it permanant. The cultural side is concerning plus we have a 10 year age gap between us but we've both been open to everything. We want to marry and are trying to establish whether its best for him to come to South Africa and we marry here and then I'll move there (since I have temporary residency here right now)or do I wait until I move to Dubai? What type of requirements would need to be made if he's Muslim and I'm Christian? the U.S. consulate site isn't clear. Appreciate any thoughts any of you may have on any of the above. Thanks so much.
