It was founded in 1967 by John P. FitzGibbon as the Spanish Department of The English Centre, but in 2000 took the name of VELÁZQUEZ.
Of the more than 2.000 students, either individually, through their companies or through their Schools in Great Britain (we ran the “Madrid Easter Course” for more than 25 years) who have chosen us, the vast majority have been fully satisfied with our personalized and practical teaching methods.
Our teachers are native Spanish speakers and are fully qualified as teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language. Apart from their professional qualifications, we have also taken into account their enthusiasm, dedication, creativity and friendliness when considering them for employment.
Our methods, without ignoring new techniques, put special emphasis on the contact between the teacher and the students. This method, utilizing the four basic language skills (oral and written comprehension, and oral and written expression), leads to a greater control of spoken Spanish.
