The majority of Pakistanis can not work legally, to work legally you will need to be sponsored by a company for a job. Your English will need to be exactly on spot, you will have to have something to offer. You can not just turn up and claim a visam you will and can be rejected.

The majority of people on here saying they can help you with a work permit are not legal work permits, you need to obtain this from Immigration in Cyprus.

To work in Cyprus as a foreigner you must have resided in cyprus for SIX months prior to starting work. Only after 6 months will you LEGALLY be issued a work permit by immigration. Work permits are usually on a short term basis

For women to obtain a work permit visa is much easier than a man who wants to. Women can obtain it through a family who r willing to bring a nunny , babysitter or house maid or help gavers for man is bit difficult. The work permit or the contract is made from cyprus through migration and immigration and ministery for foreign affairs but first u hve to find the person who ll take you in charge because it is too expensive. 800 euros only a bank garantee + insurance +a lot of running which family or companies doesn't do it which means they get an agent which is an extra fees so just pray it is too difficult especially now here in cyprus they don't trust much bcz most they come with contract then they run away without taking into consideration the families or compgnies running and expenses

First of all, most of the information located above is a LIE. If you do not wish to get in trouble, I suggest you do not believe ANY of it until it is confirmed by an independent Cyprus based lawyer.

Secondly, I am a Cyprus based lawyer (no, I am not advertising my services here, in fact I leave no contact information about myself) and generally the following is true. Cyprus has a compex migration regulation in place. Work permits are a form of migration permits, issued by the Migration Department in Nicosia. You, as individual, generally can NOT apply to obtain one - instead, the whole process must be generally performed by your employer (depends on the type of work permit you wish to obtain - there are different categories). Thus, to obtain a work permit in Cyprus, you must:

1) Be a EU national, or
2) Find an employer, contract with him, make him submit all the necessary applications and IF there is noone in Cyprus who wishes to take that job (that WILL be checked by the Migration Department), you may be given the permit.
