Opening non-resident account

I travel reasonably frequently to France - often on business and three times in the last 6 years have spent 2 to 3 months working there. Each time I have a lot of trouble opening a bank account so that I can be paid. Can anyone suggest a bank that is (reasonably) happy to have non-resident account holders - or people who are in France on short stays?
