Hi Maddy! My opinion is: definitely yes!
Most of the people in HK know English or are at least interested in learning it! You'll also find jobs where you can speak English!
Of course it's always better (for job opportunities or just to integrate better into the community here) to get a good grip of Cantonese! The best thing is talking or taking classes with a native speaker!
