Ferries to France

If you are looking at visiting France, then going over by ferry crossing is a very popular way of travelling. It can be an amazing trip with your folks, full fun which you never seen before like that. There are so many different ferry operators. I have travelled long back on Norfolkline, at that time the services were affordable. Can anyone tell me right now how are the present services. Any personal experiences?
