Nurse Wondering About New Zealand

Hello! I am a Canadian nurse beginning to look into moving to New Zealand, as the government is actively looking for doctors and nurses. I think that it would be a wonderful experience for my family to live abroad, and think that NZ has everything that we are looking for. The tax rates seem reasonable (I pay 43% right now), housing seems reasonable compared to Canada, as well as salaries for nurses. We are looking for a quiet, safe environment where we can enjoy mild weather all year (rather than enduring -30 degrees celcius)and play in the great outdoors. Am I missing something? Why are some people so negative about NZ?
