Marriage Permit in Oman

Is it true that if an Omani wants to marry a foreigner that he or she needs to get permission? If so how long does this usually take to get?

Yes it is true. You need to fill out papers at the interior departement.
The time it takes depends on how much you or you parent has influence on the government. otherwise, it takes a minimum of 2 years and you'll need a lawyer to represent you.

Dear Fulla,
What kind of documents are required to get a marriage permit in Oman?
As you said "it takes a minimum of 2 years".
Is it possible to speed up this process?
Thank you for reply

Some times its quicker. Just keep on ringing the MOI lots. It should not take that long. If the Omani is over 35 it will be even quicker.
