Watch out for all the guys who...

Watch out for all the guys who are asking you for money or cigarettes. We were drinking something in front of the McDonalds in the centre of Porto! And each two minutes there was another one asking for money or cigarettes. Also the same people came back several times!

people trying to sell you rubbish
As with any foriegn city you visit be careful of people trying to sell you rubbish. Also be aware of people trying to earn money off you. If you are in a car and a man helps you to park he will expect money! Dont be alarmed, there are far more dangerous places in the world than Porto.

Relax and feel the nature around you!

Dornes is a place where one could travel back in time, incorporating local legends of magic and mystery.

In our terraced garden, if the weather is right, enjoy the shade of the several trees and the green lawn: both make for a great option for reading a book or just taking a siesta. You can also enjoy one of Valdemar’s caipirinhas or Wladimir’s massages. If you want to keep active, take advantage of outdoor activities such as biking, canoeing, hiking and fishing.

There are plenty of good restaurants in the city of Tomar, serving national and international food. If you cross the river Zêzere to the other side, you’ll be in Beira Baixa, one of the Old Portuguese provinces with lots of delicious regional dishes awaiting you.

Should you want to eat in-house, your hosts will also be able to provide you with drinks, snacks and several warm meals.
