Alone in Russia

I am a student living alone in St. Petersburg until December. I haven't been able to meet anyone in the past month that I have been here and I would really like to get out and see some of the nightlife here. Does anyone know where would be a good place to meet English speaking expats in St. Petersburg?

I'd settle for a single online forum for English speakers living in St. Petersburg! There doesn't seem to be anything online for this category of expat.
