Im not living inside a compound in rhiyardh, actually i came to Saudi Arabia to join my husband in Rhiyardh, but as a foreignor whom doesnt speck arabia i was wondering how i can get to know people.... i wanna learn all i can about the life style but find my husband working very long hours leaving me alone al the time. please if anyone can offer some help that would be great.shimanna23 Mar 2008, 05:33

unlike you i actuallly wish to make a life, and experience this country, but by all means if all you do and enjoy is watching tv then best of luck to you......i take it this is the negative attitude i was warned about that some (not all) saudi people have towards foregnors...

Hi,
No you do not have to wear the Burqua or Niqab. It is not compulsory.... but in saying this, you should wear Hajib or scarf to hide your hair yes.
But i have seen the some foreignors whom only wear the traditional abaya without a scarf.

Hi,
I am planning to move to Riyadh from the uk. I am currently working in admin and have several years commercial expeience in coporate companies.
I have a small family and initally planon moving first and then getting settled and then inviting them over after a few months.
Could someoneplease guide me on where to find jobsa nd tell me what the interview process is as I dont have the time and money to fly back and forth for interviews..

i hope you have really found friends. my advice : stop chatting & look for real people ( women like yourself )or expats from your country, 80 % of the people speak tolerable english.Bebo and co are not the exception, in fact you can strike a friendship easily enough most arab women have a tolerable knowledge of english some are fluent speakers.I get the feeling some folks are trying to fool around.

Thanks, yes you are correct, I posted this after not long arriving in KSA, but since this post have met many great women friends. Mostly foregnors but as of yet none from my country. The Arab women I have been lucky to be introduced to have some or little english, but its a learning experience for me, and I hope to continue meeting them.
