I am astonished that crime is not mentioned in the overview of South Africa on this website. It is such a huge problem that anyone considering moving here needs to take it into account. You have a very good chance of getting mugged, robbed, raped or murdered if you move to South Africa.
I live in a posh suburb of Cape Town. In the last year there have been four shootings that I know about in my suburb alone. In the adjacent suburb, two people have been shot dead in their driveway.
Crime is out of control in SOuth Africa and it will probably only get worse.
The crime is rampant - We used to live in Johannesburg. After having been hilacked 3 times, burgled at home 7 times we decided to move the UK. Need I say more?
