Moving back to SA

Hi, i am thinking of moving back to SA and would like some advise regarding immigration problems i might face(i.e ID book/citizenship) on entering south africa and living there for a few years. i was born in south africa and have dual nationality with british and southafrican passports but moved to the uk when i was 14 so never got an ID book.

not sure if you can do it out of SA
Persons applying for their South African ID book for the first time must submit their applications through their nearest Department of Home Affairs in South Africa. South African embassies and consulates can only process applications for re-issuance.

moving back to SA
My wife & I are SA citizens but have been living abroad since '94.
we are thinking of returning to and working in SA.
We did not 'officially' emmigrate.
Would there be any difficulties?
