Permanent Residence : How to stay permanently in South Africa

Hello,

I am not sure about so any help would be welcome.

Permanent Residence : How to stay permanently in South Africa

In the section above it states that when appling for a workers residence permit that you "have applied for residence abroad" Is it not possible to do this from within South Africa on a temporary residence permit?

Many thanks
Mike

Permenant Residence Visa Lapse
Does anyone know what would happen if my permenant residence visa lapses after two years for not bringing a chartered accountant report on my business. There is no bar code on my passport stickered visa or an expirey date and my PR certificate only states at the bottom this criterea.

Anyone know how they may monitor this if I fail to give home affairs this report as the economy is frighteneing and not sure if my buisness will last the term!

Permanent Residency from a Work Permit
To apply for permanent residency in the work permit category, you will need to have been on a work permit for 5 consecutive years.
The only exception is the Exceptional skills work permit. If you are on the same, you can apply for Permanent Residency straight away.
Any further questions, you can contact me on:
