Why do I need to get a Residence Permit?

You will need a Residence Permit in order to remain legal in Spain for a period longer than 3 months. Get your Residence Permit with the help of an immigration lawyer.

If you are not a European Union national, and you are planning to stay in Spain for more than 3 months, you need a Residence Permit. You need it to remain in Spain legally. You will also be asked for it when applying for a work permit, or Spanish Nationality. Make sure you remain in Spain legally, and get this permit.

  1. You will be informed about the documents you need to hand in at the Spanish consulate in your country of origin or legal residence in order to apply for your Residence Visa.

  3. Once you have the Residence Visa in your passport, you will be informed about the documents that are needed to apply for your Foreign Identity Card once you have arrived in Spain.

  8. The lawyer will monitor and control the proceedings of your Foreign Identity Card application, and will keep you updated on the state of the process.
  9. You will be assisted by a lawyer at the point of receipt, when the procedures have been completed and your Foreign Identity Card is ready.
  10. Any questions or doubts you may have regarding the application procedure will be dealt with by the immigration lawyer.
  11. The lawyer will make sure your Residence Permit is valid, and will inform you when action is necessary for your Residence Permit (Foreign Identity Card) to remain valid.
