Whyare the English so racist towards Indians and Pakistanis?
I am just sick of all the racism I c on a daily basis towards asians in the uk, why are the english so racist towards us?
Ive lived in england all my life and I am sick of all the racism, I am thinking of emigrating to another country.Other european countrys are less racist towards asians so why are the British an exception?are they inherently racist?
pakistanis are the biggest ethnic minority group in britain so we're just used as scapegoats, and blamed for things like 'stealing jobs and housing'. If we werent here they'd blame all thier problems on someone else.
I find the racism here unbearable too. Just got back from the states and everyone there was so nice. But theres alot of racism directed towards african americans and south americans there.
that's so true, i'm asian and i have lived in england all my life and cannot believe the amount of racism i've seen. it's just sickening to be abused in such a way and i really am considering moving to another country because of it. for e.g, the amount of abuse thrown at amir khan (boxer) is shocking. 'dirty paki', 'pakis have no chins' etc etc.
not racist towards asians, just sometimes pakistan people as they are (not all of course, there are nice pakis out there too) clingy and perverted and quite often rude.
Because they need someone to blame for all the problems in their country. We're just a convenient scapegoat since many of us go there as *educated professionals*. Perhaps they are just intimidated.

Bro, it's basically an inferiority complex... but in a really weird way. I've noticed that we (South Asians) tend to get an unusually high amount of discrimination. These days a lot of Gorah's basically try and make out like they only hate Pakistanis ("pakis" but really that's just BS - coz they do it to Indians in general as well... it just gives them an excuse to avoid being called "racist". I think because we're one of the more successful groups - and English folks don't really like those more intelligent than them. Not all of them are like that, but if you look how many of these Cbbnts came out of the woodwork to bash Amir Khan just for the sake of it... it is a reasonably high number. Also I guess because unlike other ethnic groups we really don't do it back to them all that much, so it gives them leverage to do it since they won't get any back.
Jahangir bro, you are quite right. In fact they do this to anyone who isn't white but who seems to be doing well. We are a peace-loving people so we don't retaliate so much (unless its a high publicity event like what happened to Shilpa Shetty). This probably makes them think that we are push-overs and they can walk all over us. You know what? Let them think that. That just goes to show how childish and petty they have become. They want us to contribute to their failing economy and their "culture" but they can't do us the courtesy of treating us like equals. Screw them. Narrow-minded bigots!
I've been wanting to pursue an MBA in the UK since a while, but i've only received negative comments regarding treatment of Indians or more broadly, ASIANS there. Is this really so true? What makes them think that white skin deserves preferential treatment? Its not like we Indians are incapable intelectually. We're not incompetent in any way either. In fact if i may say so, we're far more knowledgeable and erudite than a lot of the British themselves.
So why such racist treatment? Is it a crime to be born with darker skin?! I think such behaviour is totally narrow-minded, cheap and of course, UNETHICAL.

I have heard that in India the caste system itself has a rigid and unfair colour caste system with the light skin at the top and the darkest Indians at the bottom.
How many of your parents have protested about this racism and injustice? I expect all of your ancestors and parents not only support it but believe in upholding it.
The English are simply treating the light and fair skinned Indians with the same contempt that your parents show towards the lower darker castes back home.
Maybe there is a valuble lesson to be learned through this. You cannot support one racist system that suits your purpose and agenda in India and at the same time cry and protest at another system in England that does not.
Many Pakistani people in the UK dont make any effort to mix with other people, by mixing I dont mean giving up your culture and beliefs.
Hindu people living in the UK have made an effort to mix with other people and subsequently recieve less racist abuse.
Perhaps if Pakistani people made an effort to mix with other people then people would be see so scathing about them.
Until then you can expect to move to another country and not have anything to do with that countries inhabitants and not get stick for it, simple as!
As a black guy born and bred in the UK I have recieved more racist abuse from Pakistani people than I have off of white people.
I have pakistani friends but they get stick for knocking about with me.
It seems unfair that people are turned away from the UK who have been having a hard time in their own country yet its OK for Pakistani people to marry their cousins and bring them over to the UK, why dont you marry muslim people in the UK instead of dragging someone over from pakistan?

Don't try to include us in your sorry thesis by by all umbrella words like south asians. I am an Indians and never had an iota of inferiority complex. I agree that asians are successful as a minority, but I think that this is due to drive and family values. Which are well placed and have been extremely successful in helping to them to attain a good level of academic and economic advancement.
However most Asian cultures are only able to emulate and copy the achievements of others. Yes they can create variations and adaptions of western technology,dance and model their systems of economics of the West. They have not truly come up with an system that is original to them unlike the West.
If Asians are so bright -so clever why did they not come up with democracy(a system that Asians pretend to hate,but flock to in their millions)

I'm white and live in Glasgow in Scotland which has a significant Pakistani and Chinese community amongst others and I can confidently say they are welcomed by the overwhelming majority of Scots. They are regarded as an asset and their cultures add variety to our native culture. Racism of any sort is unacceptable and we have established laws against it. Scotland's population is struggling to stay level and immigrants are always welcomed. Forget England, come to live in Scotland, the weather isn't as good mind you.
The truth is everybody is a racist. To use the right word, everybody discriminates! The ability to discriminate is a natural human behaviour. In India there is racism of a different kind, for example take the case of hatred against North Indians espoused by certain groups in Maharashtra, or the killing of Bangladeshi immigrants in Assam. Another example is that of the murder of Bihari workers in the north east. The worst kind of racism is the Caste system in India. The murders and massacres in the name of caste is beyond contemplation. A new kind of racism that is slowly growing in India is based on economic disparity i.e. rich and poor. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer/ India is the only country where one can see a Ferrari and a Bullock cart on the same road.
The problem of racism is a common complaint by most Indians. As some one aptly puts it "it takes a racist to sniff out another racist" In essence we Indians are the most racist people in the world. We are guided by a sense of ego and superiority complex, the simple reason is ask yourself why do I want to got to the UK, or Study in UK? The only answer to that is... to satiate one's ego. So that, back home our parents can say to to people who ask, what is your child doing?... Well he/she is in UK, or He is studying in UK, or US. The only reason an Indian comes to UK is to satiate his ego, exceptions include the children of the rich and famous who go to revel in the freedom found in UK.
During my time in UK, I have seen racism between Scots against Brits; Scots and Brits against Irish and Germans, French against Brits, Between Scots and Italians etc. The Indians were the only group that discriminated against other Indians!
Indians readily form groups, Andhraites one side, Tamilians on the other, North Indians another and so on. The fundamental principle is
"Birds of the same feather flock together". It is a fallacy that by mixing with native british that racism will end. It will not!
Of all the countries Britain is the least racist. While you may think people are rude, actually they are not. Since we Indians are used to talking unnecessarily, and trying to please other we may find the British rude. actually they are not. They are bought up that way to not to express outwardly emotions and to speak only when spoken to. They respect your freedom and in fact they have a better idea of what freedom is. Well If you think Britain is very racist may be you should try immigrating to Russia you will have your head in your hand before you reach India.

trust me i dont live in Scotland but scottish people i have met & my experience during long stay there says volume about their welcoming attitude. Perhaps for the fact that Scottish people are as intelligent in head as Indian are !!

You may think we are racist but compared to other countries we are not, in some areas in the North there is racial tension but comparatively we are a very tolerant nation. It may be suprising but the majority of racist attacks are done by Muslims on Black and White people, and when I had a black friend visiting from America he said that the only time he felt there was any racism towards him was when he was in a Banglideshi area, not a white area!
To put this into perspective there was a slight increase in racist attacks on muslims when they killed 3000 people in 9/11, but when one danish newspaper publishes a picture of Mohammed the whole of the islamic world goes mental with Cmbassys being burnt down and over 100 christians being killed.
It is so easy to see why white people would be racist to Muslims! Start taking some responsibility for your actions and start denouncing some of the horrible shit that people do in the name of your religion, and stop trying to play the victim!

Indian people are possibly the most racist people in the world. People from Bangledesh and Nepal are abused and Blacks are looked at with disgust. Also people from the South of India hate people from the North of India and vice verse, also you guys have a caste system which favours people with a lighter skin tone. Racism is rife in the UK there is no doubt about it but there is also racism among south asians, so lets be honest. I am the son of a Pakistani father and an english mother. People think I am white while two of my brothers have dark skin and people think they are asian. I have experienced very little racism but I have seen my brothers being called all sorts of names and even beaten up on a couple of occasions by whites. Yet we are all from the same two parents. I have seen my asian relatives take a preferance to my two brothers because they look asian, which is a form of discrimination. The point I am trying to make is that racism is nonsensical but rife everywhere. Whether it is amongst us Pakistanis or amongst the whites. It is through education that we can make people realise that racism is wrong. I am proud to be a British Pakistani, I am proud of my father and my mothers english heritage. It is the narrow minded people who spoil everything for the majority, like the few relatives from both my fathers and mothers side, who were against my parents getting married! They did this in India before I was born here in England. So does a simple conversion make them and I suddenly different from you? We still have relatives who are sikh and are wonderfull people. The migration of people from Pakistan to India and vice versa is well known to be the biggest migration in history.This may have meant that many people hold a Pakistani Passport and others hold Indian ones but that doesn't mean they suddenly have different blood lines! I agree with you Jabbar... Iam Indian but I have many Pakistani friends.Manchester is home to a large Pakistani and Indian community as you probably already know. Me having Pakistani friends makes many of my Indian friends say things like "why are you his friend he is a Paki."It gets very tiring sometimes but that is not going to stop me from having these friends.I point out what you just said that we are the same really and I try to explain on an intellectual level.When the migration happened many people were killed and this is what creates the hatred between Pakistani and Indian. But that doesn't mean we are not still brothers or blood brothers as you put it.Many people maybe like yourself had relatives who wer e separated some in India and others in Pakistan. They are still the same people and the same race even though this political event happened. Politics can be very cruel and it can cause many problems within families.This is what happened between India,Pakistan and Bangladesh.All these countries were for centuries once called India and they are all still Indians really. I am an Indian - and I agree with a lot of people here who differentiate between Pakistanis and Indians - and yes PAKIS only want to be linked to Indians when it SUITS them. SORRY - I am an Indian NOT A SOUTH ASIAN - NOT A PAKI AND NOT A BENGALI - Indians are very different from the rest of these people and have all the respect in British society - but Pakis especially do not have the respect for various reasons as below -
1) Pakis are the largest minority group in UK who live off public funds and misuse the system.
2) Pakis are not at all well established as a community in UK - they are lazy, crime ridden and lets face it - have too many relegious / cultural hangups running jihadist camps all over the world. How can you Scream - racism when look what you have done to the world?? Most of the terrorism today is born in Pakistan - thats where Bin Laden is hiding - you people dont even spare your own let alone spare the rest of the world - so get over your relegion and learn how to live like a CIVILIZED RESPECTFUL RACE. I am sure many pakistanis are perfectly fine people - but sadly the group as a whole and your country has indeed formed a bad self-image over the world and it won't go away easily for years to come that too unless you CLEAN up your act soon.
3) Pakis mostly live in poor conditions in ghettos of Britain along with the Poor and Chavy Brits - so they are at the recieving end of racist abuse because of where they live and their social class - not as much as the colour of their skin.
Think about it - if there was really racism towards Indians in British society - then why would there be soooooo many super successful - YES SUPER SUCCESSFUL Indians in the UK today?? Billionaires, Lords and Barons / Baronesses, MBE's - there are plenty of Indians with such titles in the UK and even a few pakistanis. Fact is - muslims cannot live in peace with ANYONE - they want everyone to tolerate them and their bullshit - but they have no tolerance for others. As an Indian - I have no problems moving around in British society - i find English people to be very tolerant, accepting, intelligent, intellectual and cultured as well as respectful of others. The Americans and Australians are far worse in comparison to the British - racism is not illegal in USA and Australia or even Canada - but in UK it is ILLEGAL to even voice your opinion negatively about another race.
Everywhere you go - there will be a little hostility towards you if you are not from the dominant race in that country - in the UK its not so bad really - if you face any comments - you have a choice - report it if its too severe - or ignore it and move on... instead of taking it so seriously. We Indians can also be a bit tooo oversensitive sometimes and have pre-conceived notions about British people due to the colonial rule. So get over it and enjoy life in the UK.. make an effort and see how many british friends you will make. Only a small percentage of British people are truly racists - the rest are not... if they make a joke about India - take it as a joke instead of an Insult... lastly there are 1.2 billion Indians - and only 40 million white british - not all indians are the same or even as close culturally & physically as british people are - so it all depends on how you present yourself. If you are a smart, intelligent, well dressed and well groomed person - then the racists will also be afraid to say anything to you..and rather intimidated by your personality.

The way english people came out to say nasty things about Amir Khan is just incredible.It is like they were waiting for him to lose his first match.They forgot all his impressive victories and focus on his one unlucky defeat.The verbal slurs that they used were disgusting and the amount of whites who came out and said these thins was huge.Never mind on the different boxing forums or chat sites. Just at my work people made the odd nasty comment about him and that was in my presence never mind what they said behind my back.My kid was saying how all the white kids were saying nasty things about khan and how pakis aint hard like whites.This behaviour is a barometer and just shows how we asians are abused and that in reality the engilsh just tolerate us but really have so many prejudices against us.
