Canada is not like Europe when it comes to sms. (first of all here the industry calls it 'texting'). Each carrier has its own portal and you will not find third party websites sponsoring sms traffic
if your phone has java, windows mobile or palmOS, you can find a separate vendor, otherwise you are stuck with the selection provided by Bell, Rogers, Telus, MTS, etc...
you may be charged for it. I have Rogers and when you receive a message from overseas you pay $0.15 per SMS. It is a ripoff. I am already paying $5 for unlimited SMS messages but it does not conver traffic to/from cell phones outside of canada
I have a Bell Blackberry in a corporate account and SMS to/from outside of Canada are also charged at $0.15 a pieace... I guess that is how they make money
