Where can I find English speaking people in Zurich?
Hello all,
I just moved to Zurich last week, and was curious where i can meet english speaking people here. Are there communities I can join? or a website for finding friends? I am mainly looking forward to finding a group of people that i can go out with, watch a movie, or have dinner or something.
Also, is there a guide of interesting things to do in or around Zurich somewhere?
Hi Mohamed,
I have a really nice friend for you to meet
Ashraf Younes he is from Egypt and he is the special friend of my son Karl and I, Gretchen Pfeffer - he works at the Adler hotel in the old section of town Zurich/ Niderdorf
There is a really nice area to visit Romanshorn.
The train leaves the airport every hour - 17 after it takes 1 hour. End of the Line is Romanshorn.
Take a walk along the water side & Go to the Panem Bistro for Lunch , Tea Etc. Shiff Restaurant is great as well or Peppe's Cantina.
There is a nice Park , Yachts and Ferry to Freidrickshaven , Germany , where there is a Zepplin Museum. to see and Konstanz , Germany.
I have a flat there that I need to rent for a short while til my son & I return.
It is all furnished really nice just above the Sport Shop on the First level.
It has great views of the lake and Alps.
I can rent it for a week or two or a few nites No smoking
It has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
It does not have a TV but it has a lot of activity around there so you hardly need anything like that. If you have a lap top you can always connect anywhere.
There behind the park is the Insel Hotel where the dining is great and another view of the Lake as well.

there's a website, broad up by some guys in Geneva, called "glocals.com". The Zurich-community is not too big, but its a great chance to meet international people in Switzerland and post or join activities. Try it!
Hi everybody!
I am a 27 years old girl and now am in Zürick since October, and my situation is very similar than Mohamed's. I am boring here and I would like to meet english people to go out and to have a good time. Is there any communities I can join to find friends?
Thanks a lot!
There are a lot of party boats on Lake Konstanz in Romanshorn or the Ferry to Friedrickshaven
or visit Konstanz , When you get to Romanshorn there is a thurbo train to Konstanz or you can go to Roshacht the other way.
There are a lot of English speaking students there at the lake from Euregio school
I am looking to sublet my flat for a few months.
I have an extra bedroom with bed for 1 or 2 persons ( The mattress can be split)
It is very elegant & fully furnished
If you find anyone I would appreciate it a lot
Pass it along to any of your friends.
try to see the Rennaisance Hotel in Glattbrugg
they have english speaking guests & conferences there

Hi there every body, I hope this will work out! I am here since over one year and its very hard to find English speaking people. I was very busy in language courses in the beginning and after I tried to find communities or friends here in Zurich but not too much luck and I had an accident so I couldn't do any thing for almost four months. Ya I know what a guy but what shall I do against the forces of nature anyway. I'd like to meet people here in Zurich English speaking people or even better Swiss English speaking people so I can practice my German...
Hi Everyone,

I am in the same situation as most of you guys here at the forum. Been here in Switzerland since December 2008 and haven't got the chance to make so much friendships - it's starting to get really boring. I am interested in going out, sports, movie nights or travel. You will find me in Bern.
