amnesty??

• I've have been working in the UK without a work permit for over 15 months now. I am originally from the Ukraine. Has the government got any programs for allowing illegal workers to become legal??

• Getting papers while in the UK is difficult

  It is unlikely that the UK government will declare an amnesty for illegal residents in the UK. Even before the bombings last week, this is a politically very sensitive subject. The best thing you can do is try and get a legal offer of work from an employer and then start the process. You may need to go back to your country to do this. Would recommend looking at this site to find out about your rights and the law http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/ and then talking to a lawyer that is an immigration specialist to get proper advice.
