work permit vis a vis passport expiry date.

• my company in india is looking after software maintanance of a reputed swiss company.at any given time 30/40 people from our company in india,(all software engineers) are working at swiss company's geneve office.If i am sent to work with them too by my company in india,will geneve canton grant me work permit B,for one year,eventhough my passport will be expiring after 10 months? i can always get my passport renewed at swiss embassy inbetween.
