  • you need a job offer in order to get a NAFTA visa

being a citizen of a NAFTA country, you need a job offer from a company in the USA or Mexico in order to obtain your NAFTA visa and be eligible to legally work in the USA and Mexico. The Nafta visas last for 1 year, after which you can renew them again and again as long as you have employment in the US and Mexico. The same applies to Americans and Mexicans wishing to work in Canada and the USA respectively.
