  • I don't know much about Australia

I have lived in Canada for about 6 years now. I find that people in general are "cold", however it is a peaceful and beautiful country.

Life is hard like anywhere. You have to work to get a life. I am a professional from Europe with a university education and it took me about 4 years to find a comparable job/status to the one I had back home.

Weatherwise, well. It is cold in winter. No doubt about it. If you come from the American or European continent, there are flights everywhere. I guess that if you moved to Australia, you would see that it takes a while to get there! It is FAR FAR AWAY! so you may not see your family back home as if you were living in Canada.

Of course, if you come from Asia, maybe Australia is a better/closer place..

Anybody who could tell us about Australia?

  • living in Canada in Winter in Vancouver

Winter in Canada is not that bad everywhere. If you live in Vancouver or Victoria, you will rarely (if ever) see snow at your doorstep.

The downside is that it rains like hell in winter. Some say that the Provincial Flower should be the mildew!
