Travelling in Costa Rica

• We are heading down to Costa Rica and don't really have any plans yet... I've been tossing around a few places to go while we were there this time.. does anyone have any ideas for lodging in these areas or other areas we might consider? (I spent a month in Costa Rica about 2 years ago kayaking rivers all over the country, but this time we just want a mellow beach vacation with maybe some amenities/activities nearby without throngs of people).
