single female need to know about housing/living expenses

  • i am in the negotiation stage of my working contract - they are offering 1 month free rent plus a moving bonus - but only 10% on what i currently earn - which according to my research on housing leaves me short to even pay the rent for a year.
any advise would be highly appreciated - trying to make an educated decision about moving.......

  • Asked to give up my passport!!??

Hello. I am Hungarian living in North America. I recently received an offer for a managers position at a mall in Dubai. The employer mentioned that I have to give over my passport and they hold it for my employment. Is this standard practice? Sounds shady to me but the offer is good. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Passport answer

Yes, they hold the passport - it is often common practice. But I did not think it would apply to a manager. Decline to hand in your passport as in your case that would not be necessary. It is only applicable for construction workers, drivers, cooks and maids.

  • 14000 AED + Medical + Transport

I have got an offer for 14000 AED/month + Medical + Transport + Yearly 30 Days Paid Leave + Air Tickets. Is it enough for a couple to stay in dubai and what will be the savings? I am currently in India having an annual package of 9 Lakhs per annum, live in a 3 BHK Apartment in a good society, drives my own car. Is the offer worth switching over?

  • Staying in Dubai

Staying in dubai is expensive. You can share room with one will reduce the rent. Staying in Dubai alone is not secure. I graduate from India, in Dubai working for an automotive showroom, got company accomodation, serching for one to share my room in Dubai - Gussais from July / August. Preffered executive females. Contact with details : [email removed] or [email removed].
