Greek Orthodoxy

  • If you live in Greece do you have to be Greek Orthodox? I know that there are others of other denominations who live over there, but really my question is - would it be better be part of the Greek Church? You see my other half is soon to start with a Greek Company and there is a chance after the trial period that we could be sent to Greece, I was just wondering within this instance if it would be better for us\me to become Orthodox?

No, you do not have to be Orthodox to live in Greece,
but to ask "are you orthodox"is the same as asking
    "are you Greek".
Unless you are a church goer and like long services, and speak Greek ,i can see no point in becoming Ortodox,.
But you cannot be buried in agreek cemetary unless you are orthodox, and under Greek law there is no cremation
for orthodox or any other relegion at this time

Are you Orthodox is NOT the same as asking if you are Greek, what a stupid statement. No, you don't need to be orthodox to live here, it doesn't help in any matter if that's your main question.

  • Greeks don't care about religion

Greeks, just act like they believe. They don't. They do everything that is against the bible, and nothing according to the bible. Except their elderly are more focused on religion the rest are just actors. How can you bible in the bible and be racist like the greeks? not possible.

  • so true

Greeks do not pay attention to their religion, with few exceptions. As for their racism is beyond human logic. But you know what, at least they are brave enough to say it in front of one's face. No stress for them if you are not their favorite they will let you know how much you are disliked. So, as the saying goes; and the truth shall let you free.
