ITALY AND THE PERMESSO TURISTI

  • NOT THAT IT'S A SUPRISE
    BUT ITALY HAS THE
    HIGHEST SMOG DAYS IN ALL
    OF EUROPE.

    ACCORDING TO THE
    CORRIERE DELLA SERA
    SEVENTY ( 70% )PERCENT
OF ALL THE SMOG DAYS ARE
DUE TO " LA MACCHINA '
    READ CARS IN ITALY.

    PALERMO HAS 207 SMOG
    DAYS A YEAR AND VERONA
    186 DAYS AND MANY CITIES
    IN ITALY EXCEED THE EU
    STANDARDS.

    THE ABOVE IS A CONCLUSION
    OF TESTS DONE BY THEIR
    OWN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH.

    THIS IS A PROBLEM
    CAUSED BY THE CITIZENS
    OF ITALY, NOT THE
    " TURISTI "; YET THEY
    WANT THE TOURIST TO
    PAY FOR THE PROBLEMS
    THEY GENERATED VIA A
    PERMESSO DI TURISTI
    OF APPROX $7.50 PER
    GIORNO.

    I LIKE ITALY AS MUCH
    AS THE NEXT PERSON;
    HOWEVER WHY TAX THE
    VISITOR FOR SMOG OF
    THEIR OWN MAKING.

    PERHAPS THE ANSWER LIES
    IN THE FACT THAT THE
    PRODI GOVERMENT HAS
    RAISED TAXES SIXTY-
    SEVEN ( 67 ) TIMES IN
    IT'S FIRST SIX MONTHS
    ( 6 ) IN OFFICE.

    ITALIANS ARE CALLING FOR
    HIS HEAD AND INSULTING
    SIGNOR PRODI ON THE
    STREETS INDIVIDUALLY
    AND THROUGH MASS
    DEMONSTRATIONS IN ROME
    AND ELSEWHERE.

    " VOGLIAMO MANDARE A
    CASE IL GOVERNO ".

[ WE WANT TO SEND YOU
    HOME MR. PRODI AND
    PLEASE DO NOT COME
    BACK. THANK YOU VERY
    MUCH. ]

    SINCE TOURISTS CAN'T
    VOTE IN ITALY, THEY
    CAN BE TAXED.

    STAY TUNED.
