Making free International calls on a mobile

  • In the UK the 3 Network has launched a mobile phone on which you can make International calls via Skype to other Skype users for free.

Does anyone know if any of the Mobile Networks in The Netherlands offer anything similar? Some of the latest mobiles available have WiFi capabilities and if you are near a free access WiFi hotspot then these phones can also make free calls to other Skype users. The beauty of the 3 Network offer (on their X-Series) is that you don't need to be near a WiFi hotspot because access to the Internet is provided free by 3 themselves.

International mobile to mobile calls are very expeensive and I'm trying to find a cheaper solution?

Anybody got any thoughts or ideas?

  • POssible solution for you

Hi. This is not a free option for you but you can purchase a virtual phone number in Holland and have the number pointed back to the UK or anywhere in the world. When you are in Holland you call the local number (normally free with your minutes bundle) and then you pay 3p per minute back in the UK to receive the call. Its better that paying the current high costs to roam. You can get numbers from http://www.citynumbers.co.uk

    Hope this helps
