Getting divorced and staying in Holland..

  • Hi! I'm from México and have lived in Holland for one year now. I'm married to a Dutch woman, but things didn't go too well. Anyways, she wants to get divorced now. Does this mean I have to leave the country or can I stay on my own?

  • Staying in Holland after a divorce

Staying in Holland is possible depending on your situation. You merried her, but you don't mention if you have any legal papers sorted. Did you get Dutch nationality, or a workpermit etc. For people to help you out more, you need to give more information. Also, in your case, I would suggest to get a lawyer or legal advisor to help you.

    kind regards,

  • Divorce and residence permit

Your RP is dependent on your marriage. If this breaks within 3 years, you will normally loose your right to stay.
