    hi lisa
I guess that Qatar Int'l School offeres the british cirriculum but Qatar Academy offers an international curriculum or international Baccalaureate(IB).
The International School of Chouiefat is also another option.
There is also Doha College, it offers the british curriculum. These schools are the best schools in doha. But honestly i dont know which one is the best between them.

  • Dutch schools in Qatar

Compass International is the only Dutch school that I know of, in Qatar. Compass is AWESOME! I have been involved as a teacher and as a parent in several other schools in Doha. Alarmingly enough, it seems that MANY Doha schools fall into the same issues of poor management, lack of qualified teachers, lack of proper classroom supplies, teachers miserable/stressed because of their appalling salaries/living conditions, disorganisation, leadership by fear..... Try COMPASS INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL DOHA. You're kids will be well educated and happy. You do not need to be Dutch to attend

  • DESS and American School

Doha English Speaking School and the American School are two very good schools pending on whether you are looking for British Curriculum or American. I have also heard from my neighbour that Doha College is also good.

The problem in Doha is that there aren't alot of good schools and thus the 'horrible' schools really do exist....to avoid would be Newton International School. That has to be the worst school in Doha. I had to pull both of my children out.

    Good luck with your search!

The ministry of education should have closed the Newton Schools down ages ago instead of turning a blind eye. Do not send your child there, even if you can't find anywhere else. Do not even accept a teaching post there as you will be demeaning yourself and going nowhere as a professional.

Well said! If you willing to settle for little resources in the classroom. No playing facilities, faulty toilets, teachers integrity and livlihood being decided on a whim then Newton International school is the place for you. As an educator myself, that place falls way below the acceptable standards of ethics and professionalism and it disgusts me and my colleagues alike. Thank God, my children are out of there.
