Russians are getting more pay with time, times are getting better.Or so it seems

"Russian wages soared more than 25 percent in year-on-year terms in August while consumer prices moved higher, signaling rising inflationary pressures in the end of the year, data showed on Wednesday.

The data showed the average monthly salary in Russia, which is flush with oil revenue, rose to 10,900 rubles, or $406.90, in August compared with 8,616 rubles a year ago.

Real disposable incomes grew by 16.9 percent year-on-year compared with 11.2 percent in July.

Many Russians have not forgotten the political and financial turmoil of the 1990s and are reluctant to save their earnings, preferring to spend on home appliances, clothes and cars."
