Visa validity

  • I've been having a good search on the internet, and can't the answer to my question. Basically is it possible for someone (a UK passport holder) to live in SA for 3 months at a time, returning to the UK every 3 months for a week. And if so, does he/she have to return to the UK on each occasion? When he/she gets back to the UK, does he/she simply buy another air ticket or should he/she get a visa?? A friend has been voicing an intention to do this, and I'm concerned they'll end up stuck in one country or another.

I think this is possible, normally when your visa expires, you just need to get out of the country and can come in again, it is just a bit costly... I know other people who did this kind of thing.
