Travel Visa for UK

• Hi All,
  
  I am an Indian National currently in France on a Student Schengen Visa. I need to travel to London for interview purpose and need to know the following:
  1) The UK embassy website says that I need to have a carte De Sejour in order to apply for UK Travel Visa. Now I cant get a Carte DE Sejour as I have a schengen visa. Therefore, how can i get a UK travel visa at the UK Embassy in France?
  Will the Schengen Visa be suffice? I tried to call the UK embassy office but no one picks the phone there.
