Fiancee is marrying UK citizen for dependent visa

  • HI
My fiancée is marrying UK citizen for dependent visa. And he says he will come back and marry me. I know it sounds very bad. I am not in a position to decide anything regarding this. He says he is just marrying her because of citizenship. Can anybody help me out by giving suggestion, if I marry him will I be a legal wife to him?, will I get dependent visa?

  • Hi

I suggest get rid of him as soon as you can! If this is only about getting passports or whatever, I suppose it is not the right partner.

From a completely legal stand point the only way he would be able to marry you would be if he divorced the woman he is marrying in the uk. Should he be applying for a spousal visa his eligibility to stay in the uk could be dependant on this marriage. Therefore a divorce would mean he would no longer be able to stay in the uk.

All of this of course is contingent upon the type of visa he has.

That being said, the entire process could take YEARS.

On a personal note, he does not seem like someone worth waiting for. Find yourself someone who will care enough for you to work the situation out with you in the picture.
