Self Employment Visa - Need advice & information

  • Hi to everybody,

I am from Turkey. I live in UK at the moment. I applied to Self Employment Visa in June, 2004. It has been 14 months & I haven't got the visa, yet. I will not write my CV here, but I have to say that I did my master degree here in UK. I don't know what is going on, but I think 14 months are too long. I call Home Office, & they say that the visa is still under consideration.

    My questions:

Why do you think it took so long?
Do you think it might take longer time? (I know that it is individual thing, but I think lots of people are waiting for their visas)
Is there something I can do to have the visa faster? (I already sent my potential customers' letters & all the regular documents)

My another question is based on what I heard from a friend. She applied for Self Employment Visa in June 2004 & announced to the Home Office that she started to work in July 2004 (before getting the visa & the passport) & now she is preparing her 1 year income-outcome to send to Home Office.

My question is that it is possible to do this (as she hasn't been accepted as Self Employed, yet)? I am asking this question, because, if I am allowed, I want to do it as well.

If any part of my question is not clear, please, let me know.

I will be waiting for your help.
