An Aussie in Austria...

  • Hi!

I'm from Australia and my partner is from Austria. I am currently travelling around Europe and would like to come and live in beautiful Austria (Salzburg) during the winter and find some work. I'm 30 years old, and am a chartered accountant. Unfortunately I dont speak German yet...although will start learning when I arrive. I'm just curious as to how easy you think it would be for me to find a job? I would like to do some temporary work - accounting, bookwork, reception, secretarial, etc... Are there any good websites you can recommend for me to look at for temporary work? - the temp sites I have looked at are all in German...

Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Regards Michelle

  • Possible sites...

G'day Matey, I had the same problem (all sites in German), check out:
    http://www.anyworkanywhere.com/jcgl_at.html
crap site, but it does give some links which may be of use, i.e. "Virtual Vienna (links for Salzburg)", "Take It" (has links to Accountancy), "Jobs in Austria" and check out links from these sites also. It's a roundabout manner but I hope it may be of some help.
Sure I'm from Dublin to be sure - now in Vienna, back from your country last year after a stay of five based in Melbourne.
    cheers, Murphy

www.careesma.com (www.careesma.at) is a new job board for looking for work in Austria, with both an English and German version.

Hope you find it of use.

    Cheers,
    Brian
