if you are flying to zurich by transiting from Germany (for example, when flying with Lufthansa) you do NOT need a visa for Germany. However, ofcourse you cannot get out of the transit lounge unless you have a valid schengen visa.

  • I need a visa

I was denied a Tourist visa after presenting all documents required of me and requested for a formal decision from Switzerland. My application was sent to Switzerland. I was told it'll take 6-8 weeks. Cant it take less than that? How can i hasten the process as i dont want to miss my Summer plans? What are my chances of getting an approval for Issuance of the Tourist Visa from Switzerland

Well You have BF in zurich
Is he swiss (i.e with swiss passport / C/B work permit)
If he has B work permit ..its difficult to marry and get swiss passport for you
C need to be checked with zurich geminde
    for Swiss national
They can marry to any girl
but Nationality for girl (swiss passport / permit )
    will take hard work
Girl need to speak german /swiss german
Girls and boy should stay together for about 6-7 years
some Kanton are more hard to deal with
    and some other small liabilities
Marrying is easy but natinality is difficult

  • Visas

    Dear all,

from 1st of January 2008, Switzerland introduces a new foreign law. This foreign law is one of the most strict and taffest in Europe. In any case, it is quite difficult or even impossible to get a residence permit if you are not from EU/EFTA-country.

Only if you are a very high-skilled professional or a scientist, which has recommendation of Swiss University or company, then your chances are not that bad.

In any case else, even if you have enough financial means or relatives in Switzerland, it is very difficult to get even Visa for some short stay. Main criteria for rejecting foreigners is the so called "insurance of back journey", which means, that it must bet OBJECTIVLEY almost sure that you will leave the country after your stay (education or job). It is not enough that you ensure it, it is only then fulfilled, if the objective criterias are assuming that you will leave the country. So for most third World Country citizen, it is almost impossible to get a visa; only if you are very rich or are very talented, then you have a chance.

Hans, What's your problem if you are Swiss you have just let down the name of your country. You dont know who you are talking to. The ycould be more educated or wealthier than you. Just because they are not EU doesn't mean they are not people. By the way I am an EU citizen and you are a bigot. shame!

    embarrased 08 feb 2008, 04:34 - Denunciar
  • shame on you

I don't think Hans is a Swiss. I've been living in Switzerland for so long and Swiss are very polite people and never discriminate nor criticize. One thing that I am sure is Swiss have good heart. So Hans, whoever and whatever country you're from, please learn to respect other people regardless of the status.
