LCBO sucks! Liquor Control Board of Ontario

  • After living in Toronto for 3 years I must say that the must disappointing thing about it has been the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario). Canada is a country that praises itself of being pro-freedom and human rights, etc., but when it comes to having the RIGHT to chose what to drink, the government of Ontario (if you live in Ontario) is the one who makes that decision. The selection of liquors from many parts of the world – from Europe, to Asia, to Latin America is absolutely disappointing. No special Rums, or Vodkas, or Tequilas, or Grappas, let alone wines & whiskies from many many brands and places.

I honestly believe that the government would receive the same level of tax income from alcohol if they allowed third parties to buy and sell alcohol with the corresponding license and controls. It is unbearable that because the LCBO has a large union, then the 11 million Ontarians have a liquor distribution system of the SOVIET era.

  • I could not have said it better - LCBO sucks

Think about it, we pay taxes to fund a brainless union and the product selection is dismal!

Let alone that the LCBO does not have an online store.

  • it sucks indeed

very little selection and nobody there really wants to do anything about it.
When will it be the day that taxpayers will have a say on how the taxes are spent?
