Foreign Currency - where do we get it

Me and my wife are going on a trip around the world. Does anybody have good tips for us regarding foreign currency. What to look out for when changing money etc.

Use Visa or an EC card
In Germany, you can get currencies in every country with an EC card (or with Visa).
