University 'Arts' Degree in France ??

I was wondering if someone could please help me...
I am a student living in New Zealand and looking to study abroad in France. In NZ at university one is able to do a Bachelor of Arts (you can then carry onto do a Masters then a Doctorate; under this umbrella it entails of a wide choice of subjects, literature, philosophy, languages, art history, politics etc etc. I was wondering if there is a broad, general degree as such in France where I would be able to study a broad range of topics. THe only place where I have come close to what I have been looking for is the American University of Paris, mais c'est trop cher pour moi
