Work permit for foreign students after studies
I'm told, there is a new german immigration law allowing foreign students to remain in Germany to search for a job after their studies.
Do you mind giving me more infos about that?14 Nov 2004, 02:05 Anonymous
Hi! I don't know about any clause on students in the new German immigration law, but maybe you can find out yourself. Try out this link for an overview of the new law: http://www.integrationsbeauftragte.de/download/ZuwanderungsgesetzUebersicht.pdfAnonymous 27 Nov 2004, 11:55 - Denuncia
Hi! According to the new law, you can extend your residence permit for one year after you've finished your studies. Note that this is NOT a work permit, but it allows you to stay in Germany to search for a job after university. If you find a job, you (or your employer) will then have to apply for a work permit, which will be granted according to the normal procedure.
It's not a perfect solution, but at least it's easier to at least find a job while you're still in Germany... Good luck!!!Anonymous 27 Nov 2004, 12:11 - Denuncia
