Can I stay longer period out of UK under HSMP visa

Hi
I am under HSMP status in the UK and my visa valid upto to 2010. I came to India on Novermber 1st 2007 due to some family problems. I am intending to stay in India for 4 months ie upto the end of February. Could anybody kindly suggest whether it will effect my Visa status and what way it will effect my ILR.
