Does the Colombian lady needs a TRANSIT VISA?

• A young Colombian lady was going to college in Luganks, Ukraine for two years. When she first traveled she flew through Madrid, Spain with no problems. Now she needs to return immediately to Colombia due to family health problems. She has been told that she may need a Transit Visa while she waits for her connecting flight in Paris, France airport. I have been trying to contact the the Consulate of France in Kiev, but they never answer the phone.
  
  I wrote to Yahoo answers and I received the following answer:
  
  "She has to remain in the transit lounge under the supervision of authorities while she waits for her connecting flight. She cannot leave a secured airport transit area without a transit visa. With close plane connections, she doesn't have time (and apparently she certainly does not have the money) to go to the airport's shopping concourse, leave the airport, etc., anyway!"
  
  Does anyone knows if she still needs a Transit Visa, even though she will stay within the secured airport transit area in France airportz?
