Where to buy a house

  • I'm looking to buy a holiday-house in the UK. Can anyone recommend some good areas? (I'm in no rush to buy).

I gues it depends a lot on whether you're looking for a house that will rise in value or whether you're asking where the best place to live would be. In terms of where to live, as a holiday house I recommend anywhere in Cornwall, which really comes alive in the Summer. Again though, you might be looking for peace, tranquility and natural beauty, so maybe you should look for somewhere in the Lake District or the Highlands. Good luck with your search, there's plenty of great places out there happy

In terms of value for money, I would recommend you buying a house in Scotland. Property prices there have risen far less than elsewhere in the UK, and so there is still many a bargain to be found. Never mind the fact that Scotland remains one of the most naturally beautiful parts of Europe.
