Edinburgh festival

• Can someone tell me what's so special about the Edinburgh festival in August? I'm told it is almost impossible to find a place to stay in the city for that month, with all hotels booked weeks in advance, and apartments renting for upwards of 1000 pounds a week.

• Worth every penny

  The Edinburgh festival should be rated as one of the "50 things to do before you die". Such a pure concentration of the arts cannot be found anywhere else in the world, and all taking place in the city which provided the inspiration for Harry Potter.

• Tickets for Military Tattoo

  I'm told the tickets for Edinburgh's Tattoo is sold out (and has been for months). Can anyone tell me how I might be able to get hold of some tickets. I would be willing to pay well above the standard price. Thanks.

  True. I was there two years in a roll and i had so much fun. I'm french and I heard about it because a friend of mine was there. They should do more promotion on it around the world
