German citizenship

• Unfortunately, your situation will not help you in obtaining the German citizenship. The German citizenship is given out on criteria of your ancestors (i.e., your parents or grandparents have to be German), not according to the place of birth. Your stay in Germany therefore doesn't entitle you in any way to the German citizenship.
  
  If you want to study in Germany, you therefore have to apply for a normal student visas. The regulations on these are currently changing, you will find updated news on the new laws soon on our site.
