Business skills and more - Seeking work Berlin

  • I am an 29 year old Australian male, moving to Berlin to live with my girlfriend for at least 18 months in early April and seeking employment. I have degrees in Economic (hons), Commerce (accounting and finance majors), and three years of a law degree from a top Australian University and seven years experience as a Senior Economic Policy Adviser in the Australian Treasury (predominantly in macroeconomics and international economic, but also in competition and financial systems), as an executive in many Australian trade negotiations and most recently in the UK Treasury.

I am after a job that can fit around my international economics masters lectures (about 8 hours contact a week) and will basically do anything. That said, I do have some skills which someone might find handy, such as in economics (forecasting and market and sector analysis), econometrics, accounting, accounts analysis, finance, accounting software, large scale project management, data entry, sales, negotiations, writing, proof-reading, financial systems and banking sector, administration, competition analysis, legal systems and market barriers to entry, telesales bar-work, gardening, jewellery etc.

I am hoping some Berlin based English speaking company may benefit from my skills and future work potential (as well as pay being secondary to actually finding a job) as compensation for not being able to work full-time (my visa allows 10 hours per week unrestricted, any more requires me to seek a skilled visa) and my very basic German.

If anyone would like my resume, or has any ideas about Berlin based companies that operate in English that I might approach, please contact me.

Alternatively, any ideas about where to look for work once I arrive in April, or the likelihood of finding work in areas such as teaching English (maybe business English or language tuition – even though I don’t have formal teaching qualifications), bar work or gardening, please let me know. I am very easy going and not worried what sort of work I get, as long as it can pay for my weekly food bill.

    Thanks in advance
    Kind Regards

    Marcus Walsh
