Dutch banking

  • I have tried all three of the major banks and they are all useless. I was given the wrong account number by postbank - who then opened an ING account instead, so my first salary bounced back to the originator (luckily not to someone else's account). ABM Amro were rude and unhelpful. I yearn for a proper bank again! The service in Belgium - even from ING - is far superior to the service from the same bank in the Netherlands (i.e. they DO have an all-English service), but I think you have to go to the UK to get anything like proper service from the banks... even with the troubles they are in at present they at least know the value of service!
