Visa for UK citizens

  • Can someone tell me if I need a visa for working in the Netherlands being a UK resident? I don't think so as UK and Holland are both part of the European Union, however I am not sure.

  • Work permit for the Netherlands

Work permits are not required for UK residents to work in the Netherlands. However you do need to fill out some paperwork in order to have everything arranged legally.

The system is slow and complicated, and changes all the time. Take all the paperwork you can find. Insurance, pasport, birthcertificate (be sure to get it apostilized) and other papers that might proof you have been or will be in holland for some time. (contract from work, bank statements, letter from the landlord)
If you're planning to stay (wether you want a pasport or not) to get into housingservices, permits, social security, you will alway have to show a "verblijsvergunning".
Make an appointment at the ForeignPolice office.
Be prepared to take off a day from work
