Student visas in Peru

Expatriates who want to study in Peru can apply for a student visa that is valid for 90 days. If your study period in Peru is more than 90 days, the visa must be renewed at an Oficina de Migraciones every 90 days.

Steps for obtaining a student visa

Fill out the following steps and take the necessary document to your local Peruvian embassy. You will be able to come in on a tourist visa and change your immigration to student whilst in the country:

  • Fill out Form F-007 
  • Provide 2 passport-sized photographs
  • Valid passport and boarding card or valid foreign resident card
  • Current bank statement along with a photocopy
  • Proof of enrolling at a language school or University
  • Proof you have already paid the tuition fees to the language school of university

Fees, processing times and conditions

The student visa is valid for 90 days after the issued date. The processing fee is US$30 and the visa can take up to 14 days to issue. If documents provided are not in Spanish they will need to be translated by a qualified translator. The visa can be renewed every three months at the Oficina de Migraciones.  Work activities are not permitted on this visa.
